Boating Enforcement
Marine Patrol
The Marine Unit operates three patrol boats on weekends and holidays from Memorial Day to Labor Day on these waterways:
- Lake Winnebago
- Lake Butte des Morts
- Lake Poygan
- Lake Winneconne
- Little Lake Butte des Morts
- Fox River
Emergency Slow-No-Wake Declaration
⚠️ Flood Emergency
Under Ordinance 9.41, a Slow-No-Wake zone is activated when a Flood Emergency is declared. This zone applies within 500 feet of any permanent structure on the county’s navigable waters.

Emergency Zones
Flood-prone areas are divided into eight color-coded zones:
- Zone 1: Wolf River (Lake Poygan to north county line) and Rat River
- Zone 2: Little Lake Butte des Morts and Fox River (Menasha/Neenah to north county line)
- Zone 3: Fox River (Lake Butte des Morts to west county line)
- Zone 4: Fox River in Oshkosh
- Zone 5: Lake Poygan and Lake Winneconne (includes Village of Winneconne)
- Zone 6: Lake Butte des Morts
- Zone 7: Lake Winnebago
- Zone 8: Rush Lake
