Boat Patrol

Marine Patrol

The Marine Unit operates three patrol boats on weekends and holidays from Memorial Day to Labor Day on these waterways:

  • Lake Winnebago
  • Lake Butte des Morts
  • Lake Poygan
  • Lake Winneconne
  • Little Lake Butte des Morts
  • Fox River

Emergency Slow-No-Wake Declaration

⚠️ Flood Emergency

Under Ordinance 9.41, a Slow-No-Wake zone is activated when a Flood Emergency is declared. This zone applies within 500 feet of any permanent structure on the county’s navigable waters.

  • Applies only during declared flood emergencies
  • Other local, state, and federal boating rules still apply

Emergency Zones

Flood-prone areas are divided into eight color-coded zones:

  1. Zone 1: Wolf River (Lake Poygan to north county line) and Rat River
  2. Zone 2: Little Lake Butte des Morts and Fox River (Menasha/Neenah to north county line)
  3. Zone 3: Fox River (Lake Butte des Morts to west county line)
  4. Zone 4: Fox River in Oshkosh
  5. Zone 5: Lake Poygan and Lake Winneconne (includes Village of Winneconne)
  6. Zone 6: Lake Butte des Morts
  7. Zone 7: Lake Winnebago
  8. Zone 8: Rush Lake
