Family Court Services

The Office of Family Court Services works with parents that are involved in the Family Court system in Winnebago County and that have disputes related to the placement and custody of their minor children.

Court can be confusing and intimidating, and parents that are having disputes about their children are often under heighted levels of stress, making court even more overwhelming.  Our staff is available during regular courthouse hours to answer general questions about placement/custody, the processes and procedures in Family Court, to help direct parents to community or other courthouse resources as necessary, and to assist parents to enroll in our mediation programs when appropriate.

If you have questions or wish to discuss entering into our mediation programs, you may contact our office at (920) 236-4762 to speak to a member of our staff or you may stop in personally when our staff is available to provide Walk In Services.

Mission Statement

We work to improve the lives of separated and divorced parents and their children by providing education regarding the family court process, conflict resolution techniques and effective communication tools. We strive to help parents determine for themselves the terms of their parenting plans with minimal court intervention. Our goal is to help parents learn how to better communicate, cooperate and co-parent, so that children experience the least amount of turmoil and conflict as possible as they navigate between their two homes.
