Annual Conservation Awareness Poster Contest

Each year, Winnebago County participates in the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) Poster Contest. The Conservation Awareness Poster Contest is open to K5 through 12th-grade students. Posters hand-created by local students compete at County and Area Contests in December & January with the opportunity to continue advancing to the WI Land + Water State Contest in March and to the NACD National Contest later in the year.

Home is where the Habitat is LOGO

The Winnebago County Land & Water Conservation Department invites K5 through 12th grade students in Winnebago County to participate in the 2024-2025 Conservation Awareness Poster Contest. The annual competition encourages students to showcase their creativity and express their thoughts on conservation practices.

The theme for the 2024-2025 school year is "Home is where the Habitat is."

The contest is open to all Winnebago County public, private, and home-schooled students in K5-12th grade. Submissions will be evaluated in five different grade divisions: K-1, 2-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. The top three posters in each category will receive prizes. Each of the the 1st place county winners will advance to the area competition, with a chance for their poster to win further prizes at the state and national level!

Posters and entry forms are due by 5:00pm on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 to the Winnebago County Land & Water Conservation Department.
