Recording Fees
Deeds, Mortgages, Land Contracts, Satisfactions, HT-110 etc. and Miscellaneous Documents
Wisconsin Act 314 (2010) changed the Register of Deeds recording fee to $30 flat fee regardless of the number of pages.
Note: Maximum size sheet: 8 1/2" x 14". One side of a sheet constitutes a page and any riders attached are considered another page.
Plats
Subdivision, Cemetery and Condominium Plats are $50 regardless of the number of pages.
Department of Transportation Project Plats (TPP) are $25 with one page being one plat.
Plats are 22 X 30" in size except for Condominium Plats which are 14 X 22."
Document Copies and Certified Copies
Copies of recorded documents are $2.00 for the first page and $1.00 each additional page, plus $1.00 for certificate if a certified copy is requested.
Copies of Plats are:
- $10 for 1st page and $3 for additional pages (22” x 30” or 14” x 22”)
- $4 for 1st page and $2 for additional pages (11” x 17”)
Real Estate Transfer Fees - Current rate of fee is $3.00 per $1000. Unless exempt
- An electronic Transfer Receipt and fee or Exemption Number is required for all conveyances.
- Complete an eRETR online at: Wisconsin Dept. of Revenue
- Current rate of fee is $3.00 per $1000 of value*, rounded off to the next higher hundred.

Vital Record Certified Copy (Uncertified Copy is same price)
- Birth Certificate - $20.00*
- Marriage Certificate - $20.00*
- Death Certificate - $20.00*
- Declaration of Domestic Partnership - $20.00*
- Termination of Domestic Partnership - $20.00*
- Divorce Certificate - $20.00*
*Plus $3.00 for each additional copy ordered at the same time as the first copy.
Military Discharges
45.05 Registration of certificate of discharge. Every person who has served in the U.S. armed forces at any time, and who has been honorably discharged or given a certificate of service or relieved from active service may record with the register of deeds of any county, in a suitable book provided by the county for that purpose, a certificate of discharge or release. The certificate shall be accessible only to the discharged person or that person’s dependents or duly authorized representative, as defined in s. 45.04 (1) (a), the county veterans service officer, the department, or any person with written authorization from the discharged person or that discharged person’s dependents. The register of deeds may not charge for recording, except that in counties where the register of deeds is under the fee system and not paid a fixed salary, the county shall pay the fee specified in s. 59.43 (2) (ag). The record of any certificate of discharge or release made prior to July 6, 1919, is legalized.

Cash, Money Order or Personal Check. Debit/Credit Cards accepted for in-office orders only. A $2.50 surcharge applies for credit/debit cards (up to $50.00). Contact Register of Deeds for surcharges above $50.00.
