Pertussis (Whooping Cough)
Over the last month there have been several cases of pertussis (whooping cough) reported in Winnebago County. Our goal is to stop the spread to infants, persons who are immunocompromised, unvaccinated, pregnant women in their third trimester and people who have contact with any of the above.
In an effort to keep you informed we would like to share a letter sent home to schools with more than one case of pertussis reported. This does not constitute alarm, but rather precaution. Be aware and take the suggested steps to monitor your family’s health.
