PLANNING

The Planning Department oversees administration of the Planning, Zoning, GIS (Geographical Information Systems) and Real Property Lister departments.  

The Planning Department is responsible for:

• Development of a county Comprehensive Plan which meets the requirements of Wisconsin State Statutes.  This includes on-going revisions and updates as mandated by Wisconsin State Statutes.
• Development of a county Farmland Preservation Plan.   
• Assisting local communities with their policy and decision making process for developing individual land use, neighborhood and site specific plans.
• Working with the Industrial Development Board to improve the quality of life for county residents, attract new residents and encourage economic development through administration of funds and grants for local government and community development entities.
