Not sure how to ride the bus?

Our community is lucky to have several bus buddy/travel trainers to help individuals better understand how to navigate the bus line and learn how to ride the bus. Click here to see the local agencies that offer this. 

Do you receive Medicaid?

If you receive Medicaid benefits, you may qualify for free transportation to your medical appointments (ambulatory or wheelchair). This could include mileage reimbursement. To learn more about this program call MTM at 866-907-1493 or visit www.mtm-inc.net/

Are you a Veteran?

If you are a Veteran, you may qualify for bus tokens or transportation to get to the Appleton VA Clinic. Call the Salvation Army at 920-232-7660 (Oshkosh), or 920-734-3324 (Northern Winnebago County) to learn more. If you require assistance getting to the Milwaukee or Green Bay VA clinic, call 920-831-7905. 

If you are over age 60 and you are ambulatory, you may qualify for reduced cab fares:

If you live in the City of Oshkosh and you need to be transported within the City of Oshkosh:

If you are in a wheelchair, or have mobility issues and cannot ride the bus, you may qualify for reduced fee wheelchair transportation through ADA Paratransit:

If you live in the City of Oshkosh and you need to be transported outside the City of Oshkosh:

If require transportation in a wheelchair van, call Make the Ride Happen. They have a wheelchair van available.

If you are ambulatory and can get in/out of a car on your own.

Advocap operates a volunteer-based driver program.

A referral is required by the ADRC of Winnebago County to get started.

If you live in the City of Neenah/Menasha/Appleton and you need to be transported within that area:

Valley Transit - Bus

If you are in a wheelchair or have mobility issues and cannot ride the bus, you may qualify for reduced fee wheelchair transportation through ADA Paratransit.

Do you need help with rides to work?

  • If you are connected with the Division of Vocational Rehab (DVR), DVR may be able to help you with transportation. Reach out to your DVR counselor.
  • If you need help learning how to ride the bus, there are bus buddy programs available to help you navigate the bus system.   • If you are eligible for FoodShare, you could be eligible for the FSET Program (FoodShare Employment & Training Program) that could help with transportation. To learn more or to apply, contact Forward Service Corporation at 920-292-1344 or click here
  • If your job is off of the bus line or you need to get to your job during hours that the bus does not run, contact Winnebago County Catch-A-Ride at 920-225-1719.
