Conservation Field Day

Our Conservation Field Day is held yearly at the Norbert Rich School Forest. 

FVTC Tour

The Winnebago County Land and Water Conservation Department yearly coordinates spring and fall educational tours with students from the Fox Valley Technical College. 

LCC Educational Tour

Every other year, the Land Conservation Committee (LCC) are shown various practices and projects installed by the Land and Water Conservation Department's technical staff.

Nutrient Management Plan Training

These classes are designed to help individuals who own or manage a farm develop a better understanding of the steps necessary to write a Nutrient Management Plan (NMP) and for them to gain basic knowledge about soil, nutrients, manure, and the growing of crops.

Poster Contest

Winnebago County participates annually in the NACD Conservation Awareness Poster Contest. Youth in K-12th grades can enter at the County level, 1st place posters in each of 5 age divisions then advance to the Area, State and National contests. 2023/2024 Poster theme is "May The Forest Be With You Always". Winnebago County's entry deadline is Tuesday, December 5. Judging of the posters will be done on Thursday, December 7 by members of the County Board and staff from Extension, DNR and USDA/FSA/NRCS.

Fish Hotel Teaching Kits
