Child Protective Services Team

The Division has Child Protective Services (CPS) Teams located in both Oshkosh and Neenah. Wisconsin Statutes Chapter 48 governs much of the duties of our CPS Teams. Services provided to family’s address problem areas such as child maltreatment, neglect, domestic violence, alcohol and drug abuse, developmental disabilities, mental illness, and household management. Intervention efforts address safety issues for children as well as risk factors relating to the possibility of future harm to children. Assessment, case management, reports writing, and referral services are primary duties of the social worker. Home Consultants provide hands-on training, education, and support to parents and caretakers to facilitate changes needed to keep children from further risk of harm.
