The Winnebago County DHS and ADRC are hositng a Summer Open House! 

It will be in room 33 at the Human Services Building in Oshkosh

We will have presentations on how we serve our community at 11am, 12pm and 1pm. You will have the opportunity to talk to our staff ask questions and gain helpful resources.   

RESCHEDULED NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING WINNEBAGO COUNTY

The Public Hearing will be held for public input into the 2023 Budget planning process of the Winnebago County Department of Human Services. The Department offers a range of services (i.e., behavioral health, substance abuse, aging and disability, child welfare, community support programs, family support, economic support) to Winnebago County residents.

The hearing will be held as follows:

Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

You are welcome to send questions in advance, or ask during the event. Registration for Zoom participation is required. 

'Riding in the Moment' is a program for individuals with early to moderate  stages of memory loss that provides equine-assisted riding and activities. Over the course of four to eight weeks, participants could ride, groom, and pet the horses as well as engage with staff, volunteers and other participants.

Mindworks is a facillitated program designed for people with early symptoms of memory loss. The curriculum promotes overall health and wellness, brain health and social connections through classroom activites, community engagement, service projects, and physical activity. 

Class is held on Thursdays from 11:00am - 2:00pm

Lunch is provided 

Cost is $10 per class

SPARK! programs welcome care partners to stay actively engaged in their communities while joining peers to experience art, culture, and nature in a comfortable environment with specially trained staff and volunteers. SPARK! programs typically last 60-90 minutes.  Attending a SPARK! program provides care partners an opportunity to be together IN THE MOMENT. The programs are not reminiscent nor do they rely on recalling memories, but rather focus on observations, conversations, and creative experiences. There are a variety of programs to fit every interest and comfort level.
