This Team works with indigent or working poor people with no or very limited insurance, or who only have medical assistance. The typical consumer is emotionally overwhelmed and seeking help for themselves or has been referred by the community for help.
Services provided include:
- Brief counseling and psychotherapy
- Longer term supportive psychotherapy for people with persisting problems
- Medication prescription and management
- and Limited case management around the person’s treatment needs
The goal is to quickly lessen distress/danger and return the person to adequate functioning.
Services
Counseling/Psychotherapy
Office-based contacts to talk about and get assistance resolving troubling life issues, emotional conflicts, interpersonal dilemmas, or mental health issues. These contacts include determining a diagnosis, referring for medication assessments, collaborating with other agencies if needed, and providing any other case managment activities that would help the consumer resolve their various life issues.
Medication Prescription and Monitoring - MH
If an initial psychiatric evaluation determines the appropriateness of medications as a treatment modaility for a given consumer, the evaluating psychiatrist/APNP will prescribe the needed medications and then meet periodically with the consumer to monitor treatment response and to make any needed adjustments or changes to the medication regimen.
Referrals
When needs are identified that can not be met by our agency, consumers will be referred to the appropriate public or private resource to meet these needs.
