The AODA Counselor Team functions as our department's single point of entry for AODA services. The Counselors assess, authorize, and case manage individuals in need of alcohol and/or other drug treatment services. In addition to dealing with County residents who do not have the financial ability to pay for the cost of their care, the AODA Counselor Team assesses and deals with all individuals convicted of an Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) or related offense.
Services
Assessments
Performs both Intoxicated Driver Program and AODA assessments for Winnebago County residents seeking such services.
Case Management - AODA
All cases that are referred to AODA treatment services are case managed by one of the assessors/counselors. The assessor/counselor will track the person's progress during their episode of care and, if necessary, make changes in the mix or intensity of services to help ensure the person has the best possible treatment outcome.
Referral/Authorization Services
Upon completion of an alcohol/drug assessment, this team makes recommendations to the service recipient, as well as assists in making referrals to appropriate treatment providers. If the service recipient meets the state/ county funding eligibility requirements, a service authorization for treatment services can be issued to help fund the cost of the recommended care.
